Desert Mother is dedicated to the indigenous people whose centuries of stewardship & reciprocity on land now called Mojave can be felt in every canyon, cave, dune, trail

- Western Shoshone people
- Hualapai people
- Pipa Aha Macav (Mojave) people
- Other groups who lived and loved the lands now called 'Mojave'
- All the groups whose names are only carried in the wind, or oral tradition
Their resilience against colonization and genocide is felt in every mountain, birdsong, gust of wind, shadow, moment of silence
